Home in Tallahassee, Florida
My first landing in Florida after living in Virginia right after my stay in Hawaii was one big nightmare. My brothers and I decided during our first day in Tampa Florida that we would wake early the next morning and just go explore the stores and such. Our house was being built on the other side of town and wouldn't be ready for 8 weeks but my dad had a job he had to do so we had to live in the hotel. Well, the next morning we got up like we said we would and we started walking barefooted down the streets of Tampa and we walked till our legs began getting sore so we stopped into a Levet's Furniture Store and we spent about 2 hours in that store trying out all thier furniture but it felt so good in the store with the Air Conditioning in it. In Virginia there were a/c's but de-humidifiers were the rage back in the 1970's so we were having a great time hanging out in a cool place in the summer.
It was time to go and when we stepped out onto the parking lot so black you could see the heat waves rising and damn if my feet were on fire it felt like. I ran over to the white lines that separate the cars in a parking lot and had to walk down them to stay cool on my feet. We finally ran out of white lines on the parking lot so I jumped into the grass where it was cool and about 2 minutes into my grass jaunt and damn if I didn't find a new enemy. Sand Spurs. These things are the fruit of a weed and they are shaped like little round balls covered with little barbs so when they stick in you it's hard to get them out. Damn they hurt and we didn't know wheather or not to burn our feet on the street or let them darn spurs stick in us. Thank God we hadn't walked to far from the hotel but it was far enough.
To make up for the pitiful day's adventure we decided to go to the drive in movie across the street from our hotel. Now we didn't have a car and had figured to sneak in to the woods and watch from the tree line. No problem getting there and we could hear the movie great but then the buzzing of misquito's became a roar and 5 minutes after we heard the first we were gone. We counted the bites on our backs and my oldest brother had some 59 bites compared to the middle brother's 42 and my 22. Florida sucked, it was nothing like Hawaii or paradise... The one thing I loved was Rain showers and with each one came thunder but my favorite was lightning. That stuff looked as if it was hitting the ground just across the street from my hotel room. I just loved it when I saw lightning.
Now back to my Island dream, I fell in love with Hawaii and later on I fell in love with Leon Russell who wrote and sang "Back to the Island" where he sings about going back to the Island which is and was one of my favorite songs and thoughts until I was invited to go and live on St. Croix in the Virgin Islands. When I got there it was just as I remembered a Island to be. Paradise and it was but I became paralyzed in 1976 and didn't think about the wheelchair and the terrain's compatibility. I can't get around on an Island. There are three things I can't deal with and they are Gravel, Sand, and Hills... Guess what my friends??? That was St. Croix.
I think I will just leave paradise alone and visit from time to time but there is cement here and I like that stuff right now. You all be good... My computer should show up in no time and then we will be like family again. I have a movie I would love for all of you to see but my host doesn't allow video files. When you are getting something for free then you don't mind the problems that may arrise.
I tried to post this yesterday but my father was trying to pick up a disk he dropped on the floor in back of the computer so when I clicked on Publish Post the machine went black and I was sure I lost it all. Damn I hate when that happens because I type on the fly in that this stuff isn't written down until it gets typed. I don't think or stage any part of LaRoo.Us. I am a beleiver in you reap what you sow and I sow love and compassion but I know most of you would sow money. I love you all and pray to my GOD in Heaven the greatest father in the universe having my brother Jesus and then later he became sin for the sinners and hate for the haters and then he was called Christ. The Christ My oldest Brother. I really can't wait to walk and talk with God and Christ...
Peace Out
